Animal Shelter Moves Forward

Design work will begin for a new animal shelter, but the children at Carver Elementary will have to keep waiting for a multipurpose room. During their meeting Monday night, the Vance County commissioners approved the public safety committee’s recommendation to let Baxter Armistead Architecture design a new animal shelter.

The measure passed by a 4-2 vote.

Fundraiser to Benefit Animal Shelter

Animal lovers and locals alike soon will get the chance for a day of fun for all ages, all while supporting a good cause. On Feb. 28, the community will be able to help raise money to build the new Vance County Animal Shelter.

Progress Has Been Slow, But Showing a New Sign
